this can be done on the car. tip one: space the pressure relief bolt to gain more fluid on the backside of the cap. this is not a continous run of fluid, it simply fills in the area in back of the cap. a shock absorber beyond the spring. Stops jerky pressures. tip 2: next to the oil pressure gauge, the lowest point on the pump. subaru leaves this capped instead of a threaded release. Drill it and tap it. a thousand reasons to purge pump down low..this allows that. 16x1.5 does great. the oem pressed tin cap is stubborn, but does come out. This chore also allows to use the subaru temp sending unit that is in the intake. can even use the same gauge built into the dash. The goal there is to be in the red..not much farther. A good way to see where the oil is at for testing or whatever.. tip3: I was not expecting a weird event here..but plugging both switch and pressure sending unit in at the same time creates an anomoly I can't explain. the pulse of two spring loaded diaghram fighting in two directions? Use one or the other. Assume tesla explainable physics in action otherwise. With one in use, the other hole needs a hard plug. tip4: the oil filter. if you use paper element, pressure relief is no problem, the paper element filters do nothing to stop a bypass within themselves. if you go precise billet filter, stainless mesh..non bypass, the stainless filter mesh will cave in before subarus built in 21psi never engages. I made a separate video showing how to use the 8psi, (11 nominal - 18 maximum), relief with gm part number. excellent setup. one of the best things I have ever done for an ea82. the song is.. I have no idea. My oil pump thinks its a lullaby. I sing to my auto parts. I caress them.
