5 Deaf Students Badly Beaten With Sticks in Jaipur | ISH News

In a shocking incident which has been reported from Jaipur, 5 deaf students staying in a hostel have been badly beaten with sticks and other weapons by some local boys.Let me tell you what happened. On 11th June four youths driving a Mahindra Thar were doing stunts on the road at around 9 pm. Later some other youth driving a Ford Ecosport car passing by asked them to stop doing the stunts. Both the groups had an argument. The argument became dangerous. Later To escape from them, the boys in Ecosport entered the hostel named Sri Bhavani PG located at Shanti Nagar-B in Mansarovar area of Jaipur. Following the boys in the Ecosport, the boys in the Thar also reached the hostel. First they vandalized and badly damaged the vehicles of the hostel owner and other vehicles which were parked there with sticks and stones and then they entered the hostel. Police said that many students live in the hostel. There were 5 deaf students living in the room close to the entrance. The miscreants attacked the sleeping students with sticks. The deaf students kept saying with gestures / signs that they did nothing and that they cannot speak or hear. Meanwhile, the youths in the EcoSport car ran away from the hostel. Hearing the ruckus, others too came out of the room but by then the miscreants were gone. The miscreants rammed their Thar into the vehicles parked there to spread panic among the people. People were so scared that they did not oppose them. 22 year old deaf Deawar Singh, resident of Jaisalmer and 20 year old Surendra Chaudhary from Pali, were injured in the attack and immediately admitted to SMS Hospital. First aid was given to three fellow Deaf students with minor injuries. Both the injured students admitted to the hospital have been living in the hostel for the last two years and are studying in BA second year from a deaf college. However, ACP Harishankar said that the accused youth will be caught soon. The CCTV footage is being checked by marking the registration number of Thar and its route to reach the local boys. So sad that Deaf people were beaten up for no reason.
