The operation was headed by General Sukat under the leadership of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, continuing the city’s push to restore discipline and keep public roads passable. During the clearing operation, the team destroyed illegal tables and confiscated sidecars and food carts that were obstructing the road. Tensions also rose when a violator claimed that Meralco was responsible for the way a canopy had been connected to live electrical wires, creating a dangerous electrical hazard on the street. Because of the risky setup involving the wires, General Sukat became furious and immediately ordered the confiscation of the structure to prevent potential accidents and protect the public.
