The Story: The design draws from the Mundaka Upanishads: two birds sit upon a tree. The tree itself represents Samsara—the cycle of existence. One bird eats the fruit, symbolizing the individual soul that experiences pleasure and pain according to its karma. The other bird simply observes, embodying the supreme soul, the witnessing consciousness that remains untouched. When the individual soul recognizes the supreme soul, it becomes free from sorrow.
