📖 Description: This one meant a lot. After years of setbacks, I finally stood on the start line of the Dublin Marathon 2025 — not at my best, but ready to run anyway. Sometimes you can’t wait for perfect; you just have to show up. I only decided to run four weeks before race day. A tough summer with sickness and a calf strain made it hard to find rhythm, but I didn’t want another year to pass without taking my shot. I ran conservatively, aiming for a sub-2:20 marathon, and spent over 20 miles completely alone — which tested me more than the pace ever could. Still, I came away with a 2:21:38 finish and more lessons than any “perfect” build could’ve given me. The body bounced back fast, and the focus now shifts to the Seville Marathon in February. In this episode, I take you through my full Dublin Marathon experience — from the decision to race, through the elite marathon training struggles, to the realities of race day itself. You’ll see honest reflections, in-race footage, and what it’s really like to run 2:21 solo through the streets of Dublin. This video is for anyone chasing a goal when things haven’t gone to plan — whether you’re training for your first marathon or pushing for a personal best. 💭 Have you ever raced knowing you weren’t at your best but did it anyway? Let me know in the comments — I’d love to hear your story. 👉 Subscribe to follow the full journey as I build toward Seville Marathon 2025 and the bigger dream ahead. 🏷️ Chapters: 00:00 – Intro 00:49 – 6x1km 2 x200M Track Session 04:25 – Talking Head 05:59 – Warm Down 06:34 – Easy Jog & Rub Down 09:21 – Talking Head 11:13 – Race Prep 15:03 – Talking Head 15:26 – Dublin Marathon 16:48 – Post Race Thoughts 📸 Follow & Connect: 🏃♂️ Instagram: @theirishhammer 💪 Coaching: @bounce_running 🎥 DOP & Cuts: @ak_productions789 🎬 Editing, Grade & Post Production: @t1media.ie
