The Monoprice Select Mini is an amazing 3D printer for beginners. Understanding what kind of accuracy you can expect from the machine is crucial in designing functional parts. Here I printed several one-inch cubes to evaluate the capabilities of the machine, and adjusted my design to try and achieve a perfect part. These parts are 1 x 1 x 1 calibration cubes with a 0.250 hole, using oversized and undersized dimension to fit a precision bolt. Each has a slightly different edge treatment, either square corners, chamfers or fillets to see if there is any impact on the outside dimensions of the cubes. Taking the averages of all the dimensions, I resized the 3D Model in Fusion360 to try and print a 'perfect' part. The modified cube has dimensions of 1.0032" x 1.0085" x 1.0113". The resized holes are 0.2582" vertically and 0.2552" horizontally. The print error was around 1% for all dimensions. I hope you learn something and can apply this process to your own projects.
