Backstage: Chromat x Oribe Hair Care | New York Fashion Week FW19

This season’s Chromat show draws on the vibrant, tropical paradise of Miami. Oribe Director of Training & Content, Kien Hoang, complemented the Fall/Winter 2019 collection by creating looks inspired by elements of the ocean. Wet, slicked-back hair and long braids accessorized by tropical flowers and recycled plastic bottles paid homage to the fashion industry’s contribution to climate change. Slicked-back 1. Divide hair into horizontal sections. 2. Apply a generous amount of Surfcomber Tousled Texture Mousse and Curl Gloss Hydration and Hold to each section. 2. Using hands, rake the hair back from the face, slicking hair down on either side. Secure with clips to hold in place. 3. Twist the length of the hair into a loose bun and secure with a piece of cloth to create a natural bend in the hair. 4. Dry hair with a diffuser to lock in the shape and set the product. 5. Remove clips and lightly rake the lengths of hair into place. 6. Apply leaves at the sides of hair for a tropical touch. Apply Star Glow Styling Wax to each section. 3. Add Star Glow Styling Wax to fingertips and braid each section into a long Dutch braid; secure with an elastic. 4. Apply Superfine Hair Spray to smooth flyaways. 5. Secure flowers to the ends of the braids for a tropical touch.
