Last class of the year guys, and the theme was all the ways in which I'm not Franz Strauss, Jurgen Kippel, or Larry McEnroe. =) A selection of techniques from the Herbrechtingen Budoseminar we attended over the weekend (Disclaimer: any differences between actual seminar techniques and what I taught should be attributed to either A) incompetence, B) poor memory, or C) an overwhelming lack of talent...oh, and my ukes being a sub-par pack of wasters of course): Jurgen Kippel: From standard guarded stance, palm-down index & middle finger lock, transition to palm-up ring & little finger lock. Larry McEnroe: From straight punch, split entry, arm wrench, step near foot across stance to hook partner's same foot, step far foot to kneel in behind partner's same foot while near hand collar grabs, recline and sit into throw, finish with arm wrench. Darryl Murray: Starts as Delayed Sword, Pak Sau chop, pluck hand up & hit through with backfist, hook punch over top, finish with Entwined Twigs. Franz Strauss 1: Corner Throw counter to Drawing Ankle. Franz Strauss 2: Stomach Throw into mid-air ankle draw. Antonio Salveta: Intercepting Mace into Checking the Storm with stirruped-elbow pin.
