Glitches in WATCH_DOGS! I actually enjoyed this game which says something, since I normally can't stand open world games. I also liked Red Dead Redemption. Points of interest: 1. Spinning glitch - Moving during the loading screen can make him be pinned in one spot, and you can spin. 2. Unloading vehicles - If you order a car in odd locations, they can unload on you. 3. It's possible to end up running under the water's surface. This can be done anywhere where the ground under the water suddenly goes deep: (a) Back-up a long vehicle ALMOST to the point where it will tip into the water completely. (b) When the vehicle is at precarious tipping point, take cover against its side, the game gives priority to taking cover, so you're submerged without being made to swim. (c) While staying in cover, go to the back and face the front, and spam aim while trying to detach Aiden from taking cover. (d) Aiden will then back away from the vehicle without touching the water, & you can explore underwater. Not in vid: I plunged a car into the water before doing the glitch, to try to drive underwater. But the car will either unload, or the prompt to enter the car won't work. I activated the alien “phone game” underwater, making the aliens act oddly. Not in vid 2: You can get infinite XP underwater. Done by shooting and then repeatedly “flee” from the law, which is easy while underwater. 4. Normally the game makes certain prompts “unavailable” if you have a grenade aimed to throw it. But this can be gotten around, by quickly cancelling the grenade-aiming and then suddenly throwing it, there's a small window of time to also activate the prompt. I showed two examples of this: (a) At the drinking game: the drinking game starts, but when the grenade explodes, your opponent gets blasted away while Aiden is still sitting. (b) At the chess game: grenade beeps endlessly as the game crashes. 6. Entering the map-menu at any moment Aiden dies = game crash. 7. I found this menu glitch particularly interesting, and it may result in being able to cause some loading paradoxes. If the game suddenly awards you a “skill point”, it gives you the option to enter a menu to upgrade. But, if you press “Start” (which is a different menu) a split second after pressing the button to enter the upgrade menu, the game will bring up both menus overlayed at the same time! And to top it up, both menus respond to any inputs. I didn't mess around with this at the time, for fear of creating a game-ending paradox. Needs testing. 8. Menu glitch at “Alone” - This is a similar menu glitch as mentioned above. But not as interesting since the menu that appears is only a graphical glitch that appears (it has no function). 9. I discovered a glitch I call “The fast travel” glitch, and it is this. The game normally doesn't let you enter the map once you engage in important prompts which start certain events. However, there are a few frames when you can enter the map as you activate these prompts. At this point, the game starts to load the event tied to the prompt, but since you are in the map...you can “fast travel” away from this important event as the game is trying to make Aiden engage in it. So this is a prompt breakout, of sorts (utilising "fast traveling" to another area of the map). In general, the game will “take” elements of the event you started to engage in, to the new location. Causing all sorts of strange contradictions, here are some of the results: (a) Starting a Slot machine prompt as you travel away – You get a first person view of the new location with all the prompts that belong to the slot machine. They have no function, and the game soft locks. (b) Starting to sleep as you travel away – The game prepares to make Aiden sleep outdoors (normally not possible), the clock and other prompts that belong to his room are on-screen (with no function). Then softlocks. (c) Activating an ATM as you travel away – After travelling away, the game takes control of Aiden, and forces him to go to the ATM you activated that is now miles away, even making him swim across a massive lake to get to it. (d) Cash run – The game moves Aiden to the new location, but then realises the mistake and automatically moves him back to the cash run. (e) Starting a poker game as you travel away – This has the most extreme effect on the game. When you get to the new location, you get a totally black screen. But if you restart, everything about the game is normal...except that most of the screen is black. Thanks to the fact that the mini-map can be seen, you can then go and engage in activities in the dark. I showed some of these in the vid. Note: It might be interesting to complete a whole mission in the dark, or the whole game. 10. Some minor car launches – one to end up on a building, and then in it. And one to end up out-of-bounds. And yes, I'm aware there a bigger car launches in this game.
