Have you ever noticed something about the way Jesus enters people’s lives? He almost always interrupts something. In Luke 5–6, people are just living normal life. Peter is fishing after a long night of failure. A man is living with a disease everyone avoids. A tax collector is sitting at work. Religious people are busy protecting their rules. And Jesus walks straight into all of it. But here’s the thing — when Jesus interrupts someone’s life in these chapters, it’s never to shame them. Peter thinks Jesus will reject him when he says, “I am a sinful man.” Instead, Jesus calls him. A man with leprosy wonders if Jesus is even willing to help him. Jesus says simply, “I will.” A paralyzed man is lowered through a roof hoping for healing. Jesus starts with forgiveness. That’s the pattern. Jesus doesn’t show up when people finally have their lives together. He shows up in the middle of the mess. And sometimes His grace disrupts things we’re used to — our habits, our pride, our assumptions, even our religion. But the disruption always has a purpose. He interrupts to restore. So if you feel like God is stirring something in your life… challenging something… exposing something… It may not be rejection. It might be grace beginning to rebuild your life on something stronger. Luke 5–6 shows us what happens when Jesus steps into ordinary life. And honestly, it changes everything.
