NGC 891 an often overlooked for its famous Neighbour. It is an amazing Galaxy in the constellation Andromeda near the border with Perseus. Is a fantastic galaxy for mid to large size telescopes, from August to February. it passes due south during Autumn months, but stays in the sky for a lomng season due to the lengthening nights. It is a fantastic target for late summer nights, for both visual observation and astrophotography, I used my 8 inch Newtonian with the GH5 to gather the data for the live view as well as the light frames for the photo. I ran at 400 ISO 180 sec sub frames over 2 separate sessions. I also used the 300p flextube for visual. Visual observing is easy once you locate it and rewarding with this target as it is a great test of seeing conditions, and you can really tease out detail as you get familiar with it over the months and years. I hope that these videos can give you an idea of how the night sky can look at the eyepiece of a 200 PDS, 200p, 300p flextube or any 200mm 8 inch or 300mm 12 inch reflector telescope and using a DSLR or Mirrorless camera.
