Hello pilgrims, fellow travellers and adventurers/ hola peregrinos y peregrinas, How are you doing? I hope you are all fine and dandy, I dedicate this original song I wrote and recently recorded and this little video montage to all of the pilgrim friends Brett and I have made, while walking the different routes of el Camino de Santiago - the Camino Frances, Caminho Português and Camino del Norte. During a pilgrimage, which is much more than a through-hike, friendships are often and easily formed over simple, shared pilgrim meals and some wine, water or other beverage. Sometimes hospitaleros and hospitaleras at the albergues or religions (pilgrim hostels) cook the pilgrim meals. At other times pilgrims pool their resources to cook a meal and eat together. Either way, for us we have found these experiences remind us that we all belong to one human family, no matter our age, gender, ethnicity, country of origin and worldview. The Camino brings people together as global citizens and situates us firmly within the ecosystems that surround us and sustain us, where we can acknowledge what the land, peoples and other sentient beings therein teach us and how they provide for us too. So shall we raise a glass together and celebrate our friendship? Cheers and Buen Camino! Perhaps we shall see each other on The Way of Saint James one day? With lots of love and sincere gratitude for supporting our creative journey and travelling adventures on this YouTube channel.
