So yeah, not worth wasting hundreds of dollars and maybe ending up in the hospital. The first Purge movie was small and simple, basically a home invasion thriller with one of the scariest ideas ever. But then the sequels tried to blow the world open, turn it into political commentary, add more action, and somehow it just never really clicked. What should have been the most iconic horror concept of the last decade ended up watered down.
