Steve here from http://www.FitDadNation.com and today I show you how to make a tire sled and how to use it to get a great workout. When I made mine, it cost me less than $20 and you can do the same. All you need is a few things: 1. An old tire (free from any tire dealer) 2. A 16 foot long piece of rope 3. An eye bolt, washer, and nut 4. A drill to create the hole in the tire 5. Tape (I use Gorilla) for the handles 6. 2 short pieces of wood for the tire well. This is used to support the weight/sandbag you will be using. It should take you no more than 15 minutes from start to finish and you'll be ready to take it out to a local field and train! Tire and tire sled training is highly functional and will work every muscle in your body. The exercise options are near limitless and you can As a warning though, I don't suggest using this type of training if you have injuries, especially to your lower back or hips. For a great high intensity workout that will burn your legs and leave you feeling like you just pushed a car across the Grand Canyon, try this workout: Warm up thoroughly before starting. A dynamic warm up is best. 1. Running drag 2. Triceps extension drag 3. Rotational pull and drag 4. Row and drag 5. Backwards pull 6. Overhead slams 7. Plyometric pushups 8. Side to side rotation against wall 9. Overhead shoulder press 10. Single arm farmer's carry 11. Knee pull in drag You can use variations of any of these exercises or add you own. Using tire workouts can be a great way to add variety to your workout routine and challenge your body in a new and unique way. Let me know in the comments when you make yours and how you like the training!
