Kannada Language: Kannada is a Dravidian language predominantly spoken in the Indian state of Karnataka, with a rich literary history spanning over 1,500 years. It is one of the oldest living languages in India and has been recognized as a Classical Language by the Government of India. Kannada has multiple dialects across regions and social groups, and is written using the Kannada script, which evolved from the Kadamba script. The language has a vast body of classical and modern literature, including poetry, prose, drama, and religious texts, and it continues to flourish in education, media, and administration in Karnataka. Kannadigas People and Culture: Kannadigas are the native speakers of Kannada and are primarily found in Karnataka. Their culture is deeply rooted in ancient traditions, literature, and the arts, with historical contributions from dynasties like the Chalukyas, Hoysalas, and Vijayanagara Empire. Festivals such as Ugadi (New Year), Dasara in Mysuru, and Sankranti are celebrated with great fervor. Kannada folk traditions include vibrant music and dance forms like Yakshagana and Dollu Kunitha. Known for their hospitality and linguistic pride, Kannadigas uphold a rich heritage that blends classical values with modern influences in food, fashion, cinema, and philosophy.
