Rode NT1A LDC Cardioid vs. Little Blondie SDC Omni ORTF Stereo Shootout Voice Test Review I own both these microphones, and decided to post a stereo shootout voice test to compare the sounds of these two mics. Most tests are mono only, but I feel that a stereo test reveals more about a mic. The Rode NT1A tends to be used more for voice, whereas the Little Blondie tends to be used more for instruments. The Rode is advertised as being the world's quietest studio mic, so that is why you don't hear any mic hiss. A lot of people wonder what the differences in sound character are between LDC and SDC, Cardioid and Omni, and so forth. Well here's an opportunity to find out, as I do a front test, side test facing the right mic, and rear test. Don't pay too much attention to my words, as I'm just using my voice for test purposes and reciting something I randomly found. It's helpful to listen with headphones as you can better evaluate the differences in sound character. Please feel free to post a polite comment about how you found the differences between the two mics.
