Interview by Yoichi Ochiai “When is a Jacket not Just a Jacket?” by Masatane Muto (WITH ALS) / Ory Yoshifuji (OryLaboratory) 落合陽一インタビュー11 「ALSの身体から立ち上がるボーダレスな装い」 出演：武藤 将胤（WITH ALS） / 吉藤 オリィ（オリィ研究所） ーAbout the Projectー Masatane Muto (with ALS) / Ory Yoshifuji (Ory Laboratories Inc.) discuss how fashion enhanced with accessibility features or technology can break barriers. ALSの難病を抱えながらも挑戦し続ける身体をサポートするファッションブランド「01 BORDERLESS WEAR」。プロデュースするのは、東芝のkoestationの技術と、オリィ研究所が開発した視線入力技術を組み合わせた「ALS SAVE VOICE PROJECT」を使い、声を失ったあとも自身の声でコミュニケーションを続ける、武藤 将胤。本プロジェクトでは、かっこよさを追求しつつも、工夫をこらすことで介護者が着せやすい洋服づくりが意識されている。今回は新作として、東信によるプリントデザインの新作のリバーシブルジャジャケットを発表する。 ーProfileー Masatane Muto 【MODEL】 ALS creator / Representative of WITH ALS General Incorporated Association He has been working on many projects as a communication creator and EYE DJ with his versatile personality while fighting as an intractable ALS patient. Before suffering from ASL, he was involved in various communication planning at Hakuhodo, an advertising company.In 2013, at the age of 26, he was diagnosed as ALS and launched "WITH ALS" to raise awareness and understanding of ALS around the world. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Tsukuba and Director of the Research and Development Center for Digital Nature. Ochiai is the Principal Investigator of JST CREST xDiversity Project. 落合 陽一【interviewer】 1987年生まれ。東京大学大学院学際情報学府博士課程修了。筑波大学デジタルネイチャー開発研究センター センター長、准教授・JST CREST xDiversityプロジェクト研究代表。「デジタルネイチャー（PLANETS）」、「2030年の世界地図帳（SBクリエイティブ）」など著書多数。「物化する計算機自然と対峙し，質量と映像の間にある憧憬や情念を反芻する」をステートメントに、研究や芸術活動の枠を自由に越境し、探求と表現を継続している。オンラインサロン「落合陽一塾」主宰。 Ory Yoshifuji (OryLaboratory)【ENGINEER】 Ory Research Laboratories Co., Ltd.,CEO. He had been out of school from fifth grade to the third year of junior high school. During his high school years, he was involved in the invention of a new mechanism for electric wheelchairs and won the Minister of Education Award at the 2004 High School Science and Engineering Challenge (JSEC). The following year, in 2005, he represented Japan at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in the U.S., where he won the Grand Award for 3rd place. After studying artificial intelligence at a technical college, he went on to study at the School of Creative Science and Engineering at Waseda University, where he developed OriHime, a communication robot for loneliness, based on his own experience of not attending school. For this achievement, he received the The Outstanding Young Persons Award in 2012. He established Ory Research Laboratories Co., Ltd., to make the robots he developed available to as many people as possible. Based on his own experiences, he has been developing robots with the philosophy of ""realizing a future where people can meet and participate in society from the comfort of their beds. He is a robot communicator.
