I choreographed this combo for my India/Pakistan Independence Day class. This was an extremely special class dedicated to remembering our roots. Dance & Music have a very interesting relationship. Both can exist without the other, but when both are experienced live... everything changes. The goal of this class was to explore the roots of dance and music. Though times have changed, and we can now use an ipod to mimic an orchestra the feel of the vibrations and sound of live music is still unmatched! A common thread in folk dance across most cultures is that at some point it was all experienced to live music.To know and understand our history makes us realize even more than we are human above all else.
