Steve is an American composer and one of the most influential figures in ambient and electronic music. Born in La Mesa, California in 1955, Roach taught himself synthesizers as a young adult and went on to create a deeply immersive body of work exploring space, silence, perception, and inner landscapes. Over more than four decades, he’s released 50+ albums including landmark records like Structures From Silence and Dreamtime Return, helping define modern ambient and tribal-ambient music.
