Introduction to Mineral Accretion Technology

This video provides a basic overview of mineral accretion technology (also known as Biorock technology), an active form of coral restoration using sea water electrolysis. At Conservation Diver, we work with Robert Sevenster of Coral Aid to develop and research the effects and mechanisms of this technology to further its utilization around the globe. We currently offer a certification course for divers already trained in the basics of coral reef research and restoration to learn about the use, design, construction, and maintenance of these structures. Participants of our course will at the very least understand the technology, chemistry, and uses and practice building and maintaning a mineral accretion site.
