The full shirt dress outfit is sewn and ready to wear! The pleats on the skirt took me ages to figure out and there were several iterations until I found the pleating style that was flattering and worked with the amount of fabric I had available. I also wanted to add pockets where I didn't have any seams so that took a bit of ingenuity and off-script thinking! Then to finish the outfit off and add a vintage touch, I made a matching fabric belt out of the meagre scraps I had left. I finished the skirt with a deep hem to add weight around the bottom and add twirlyness! I am very pleased with the final result and it is really comfortable to wear so I can see this being a definite favourite in my vintage inspired colourful and sustainable capsule wardrobe for those long hot (but not too hot!) summer days in Europe that we are hoping for :-) Now on to the next piece of clothing ...
