Ravenna Gorge walk | Is this the most special Christmas Market in Germany?

Ravenna Gorge (or Ravennaschlucht) surely hosts one of the most impressive Christmas markets (or Weihnachtsmarkt). The setting in which the event takes place is a narrow valley in the Black Forest, South-West Germany. The railway viaduct proudly overlooking the market gets festively illuminated, transforming the entire area into a cozy, fairytale looking landscape. Although relatively small compared to other Christmas markets, there are plenty of attractions waiting to be discovered at the charming wooden huts. From the sizzling sausages, to the savory raclette cheese and the everflowing mulled wine, even the pickiest of tourists will have no obstacle in finding a mouth-watering treat to enjoy. There are also a few hiking trails for the more adventurous of us. It's worth mentioning that tourists must reserve a two-hour time slot well in advance. Even with this booking system, it might get quite busy but it's surely needed since, otherwise, the whole experience wouldn't be as wholesome. But rest assured, two hours should be more than enough to explore everything. The tickets are fairly limited and sell out really quickly. Therefore, we highly recommend grabbing them as soon as they become available. There is also a small fee that needs to be paid but we think it's absolutely worth it. Also keep an eye for the slots that are later in the day, to get the most out of the experience and enjoy the stunning lights and the Christmassy atmosphere to the fullest.
