Wide of street STORYLINE The president of Chad, Idriss Deby, on Tuesday again blamed Sudan for last week''s deadly rebel attack on the capital. He said among the fighters detained following the attack, "60 percent are Sudanese and among them there are high-rank officers from the Sudanese regular army". Rebel groups attacked the capital, N''djamena, last Thursday but were repelled by government forces. At least 350 people were killed in the fighting. Deby repeatedly accused Sudan of hiring mercenaries to destabilise his government before the May 3 presidential elections. Sudan denied any involvement with the Chadian rebels.
