Math undergrads love spending the summer in LA with people who “get” them. Students become fast friends exploring the UCLA campus and southern California. Each summer in Los Angeles, the NSF-funded Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics offers RIPS, a highly competitive Research in Industrial Projects opportunity for undergraduate college students. 32 students are divided into small teams for nine weeks to work on unique math problems brought to IPAM by industry partners. Teams are provided with offices, computers, and cloud storage as they conduct research and make presentations to their academic advisors and industry contacts. To learn more about working in this program and living at UCLA, please read the Frequently Asked Questions about RIPS at IPAM: https://www.ipam.ucla.edu/programs/st...
