In this video, I’m going to reveal a secret – I will tell you what to eat for a smooth, fast and easy labor and delivery - without epidural. I ate it on both of my pregnancies, with my firstborn 2 years ago, and then just recently with my newborn. And it worked, both times! In fact, there are Islamic references and actual scientific studies that back this up. Eat Dates during Pregnancy for FAST and EASY LABOR and Delivery No Epidural 2021 #EatingDatesInPregnancy #DatesforLabor #DatesforLaborInduction #DatesforPregnancy #EatDatesInPregnancy #EatingDatesDuringPregnancy All natural labor . Super quick labor and delivery . 3 hour labor The average labor period for first-time moms is 6-12 hours of early labor, and then 8hours of active labor. And for second-time moms, its 5-6 hrs of active labor. So Both of my labors were way less than that. I’m not bragging. I’m not saying that if you eat this food, then you’d surely suffer faster and less than usual. I’m just saying , just try this and it might work for you too. Even if it doesn’t, then its actually healthy anyway and could do good for you and your baby. It worked for me twice. And there are actual evidences too – there are Islamic references that mention this, and if you prefer scientific studies, then there are also actual scientific studies which have found this to be true. So what is this magic food – you ask? IT’s – DATES! So, to save you some time, don’t go to google just yet, cos I’ve done it for you already. Here’s what I found out about dates, in relation to pregnancy, labor, delivery, and even post-delivery. There were four studies on the effect of dates on labor, cervical dilation, etcetera, even including post delivery hemmorhage..and basically, all they say is that:, Dates may help in: (1) cervical ripening, in that it helps in the softening and dilation process, thus shortening labor (2) It can also significantly reduce the need for induction and augmentation of labour, because it has an oxytocin-like effect thus reducing the chances of actually needing oxytocin, and just go spontaneously into labor, and also leads to shorter labor, which is what we all want, and (3) It can also help reduce postpartum bleeding, and could actually be a good alternative to oxytocin. It has also been noted, that eating dates, with all its health benefits, is safe and recommended during pregnancy, particularly during the late stages of pregnancy, and that it has no adverse effects on the mother and the child. Here are some of the “scientific” health benefits of dates: 1. Dates contain proteins, vitamins, and minerals. 2. They’re good alternative sweeteners. 3. Theýre also rich in Vitamin B6 and iron. 4. They’re high in fiber. 5. They’re also high in potassium. 6. They're high in polyphenols, which are antioxidant compounds that can protect the body from inflammation. So there’s a specific amount of dates recommended in grams, but I wont give you that.Co its funny, do you weigh the dates before you eat them? But the first study I mentioned, the one from Jordan, cited six dates a day (rather than grams). And also Mama Natural (she has a website and a youtube channel too), gave 6dates (of the big kind, and 3 of the smaller ones) a day from 36 weeks onwards is a good number. So there, 6 dates a day. Although, because I’m a Muslim, and I remember someone mentioning to me before, either my Mom or my sister, that it is Sunnah to eat an ODD number of dates, then I aimed to eat 7 dates a day, in 3 batches, so three, three, and then 1. But sometimes I ate more, because it was Ramdhan, during my first pregnancy. But that’s just me. ☺. So there you go. Dates is the magic food that I ate for a “relatively”fast and easy labor and delivery. By relatively fast, I mean shorter than the average labor time , on both of my deliveries. Of course, I’m just talking about food, but we all know there are also a lot of things that have to be done to prepare for labor like exercise, and proper diet, and correct breathing techniques. But I’ll leave that for another video. Also, again, I am not a doctor..so however convinced you are about eating dates and what it could possibly do..please please make sure to check with your doctor first. For instance, none of the studies I talked about earlier mentioned anything about blood sugar levels and gestational diabetes. Because 6 dates can be a lot. I don’t know. Just please check with your doctor first, and let me know in the comments section. Thanks for watching. Please let me know in the comments section, are you convinced or are you not?
