Aarhus Amtssygehus (hospital) opened on this location in 1935 and it was one of the most modern hospitals in Denmark at the time. In the 1970s it was expanded with additional buildings. Last day in use was Friday 7. September 2018. After that, the hospital closed down for good and all activites moved to the newly built University Hospital in Skejby outside of Aarhus city. As of February 2020, one building is in use as a place for cultural acitivites for young people aged 15-30 (Ungdomskulturhuset). Very fortunate. as I then managed to get in and document some really nice elevators here. Most elevators were in working condition, although some of them had expired certificates. Also it was quite dark in here as most of the lights were turned off.
