If you missed Part 1 of this Spanish football adventure, make sure to check that out first before diving into this one. Part 2 takes me from Alicante to Valencia in search of one of football’s most iconic stadiums — the legendary Mestalla Stadium, home of Valencia CF. With plans for the club to eventually move to the new Nou Mestalla, I knew I had to experience this historic ground while I still could. And it didn’t disappoint. From the towering stands to the endless climb to the upper tier, Mestalla is a stadium that quite literally takes your breath away — but the view from the top is unforgettable. But the football was only half the story… By pure coincidence I arrived in Valencia on the opening day of Las Fallas, the city’s famous celebration of fireworks, music, noise and non-stop partying. Football. Fireworks. Festivals. How much can you fit into one day in Valencia?
