Emergency services rushed to Ormscliffe Road, in Rednal, Birmingham, after the victim was mown down at around 5.10pm yesterday (Mon). The man was discovered in a critical condition with multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where he died last night. Police said a 28-year-old man was arrested shortly after the car hit the man, who has not yet been named, as well as a house along the street. Two further men, both aged 28, were also arrested and all three remain in custody being quizzed on suspicion of murder. A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "A scene remains in place while we continue our enquiries to establish exactly what went on. "We're keen for anyone with information, dashcam or CCTV footage which could assist with our investigation to contact us. "Our thoughts, and support, are with his loved ones at this devastating time." West Midlands Ambulance Service said they received multiple 999 calls and sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team and a critical care paramedic to the scene. A service spokeswoman said: “A pedestrian, a man, was found to be in a critical condition with multiple injuries when ambulance staff arrived on scene. "The team worked together to administer advanced life support to the man before conveying him on blue lights and sirens to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. "Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, the man was confirmed dead in hospital last night.” Anyone with information can contact police via 101 and quote log 4288 of 21/7/25.
