As the need for social services grows and diversifies in North America and around the globe, so too does the need for social workers with more specialized understanding of the complex contexts that affect groups and individuals. The Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto is distinguished by its emphasis on the integration of research and practice in both the classroom and its practicum education. The Faculty offers both Master of Social Work (MSW) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. In this video, FIFSW students share their experiences at FIFSW and their goals for the future. Featured students include: Jordanne Amos (who received the Cummings Family Scholarship, the University of Toronto Fellowship and the Bertha Rosenstadt Graduate Scholarship), Ezra Z. E. Blaque (who received the Arthur Diskson, George Street and Brian O'Donnell Award and the MSW Bursary Fund), Melanie Katz (who received the Marion Soloway Scholarship in Social Work Practice) and Areeka Riaz (who received the Sprott Asset Management-Foundations for the Future and University of Toronto Fellowship). We'd like to extend a special thank you to our supporters for investing in the future of social work.
