It compensates for errors in positioning and even orientation ensuring perfect layers to be formed. These layers are then compacted and can be transferred to a pallet by a gripper arm robot, for example. In combination with an accumulation unit and a compactor, the cv.PAL-based unit forms layers so quickly that the gripper arm robot reaches its performance limits. The 3D vision system and the omnidirectional capabilities of the cv.PAL allow for the compensation of inaccuracies in the positioning, alignment and/or orientation of the packages at the infeed, consistently creating perfect layers.
