Hey guys, today's standard is the great "walkin' my baby back home" from 1930. It was composed by Fred E Alhert with lyrics by Roy Turk, and the first version that got me into that tune was Nat King Cole's version from 1951. When i'm in tour in Sweden, i often sing that song but changing the last lyrics into "Sakta vi gå genom stan", since famous singer Monica Zutterlund sang it in Swedish and made it very popular there in the 60s. I often play this on the gypsy guitar, so the suggestion at the end of this video will be another version as a duet with Edouard Pennes on doublebass during a Romain Vuillemin Quartet gig in Paris. I'm playing on a Gibson Johnny Smith "red wine" from 1973, and i'm plugged in a 1969 fender princeton reverb "drip edge", and you'll notice that the sound is a little different than in the previous video since the Neuman TLM 103 is far away from the amp so it can also capture my singing.. The guitar is strung with Thomastik Nickel Flatwound strings gauge 13 and i'm using a purple dunlop 1.5mm pick. This is a guitar i've decided to sell to focus my collection on full acoustic archtops from the 30s and 40s, so don't hesitate to drop me a line for more info etc. Please share and subscribe if you like what you see Acoustic standards on facebook : https://www.facebook.com/Acoustic-Sta...
