The Soroptimist International Albany Club, with member Trish Travers, is fundraising to support the Cancer Council in their mission for a cancer free future. Cancer has affected members of our club and we wish to work to find a cure for cancer and raise money for support services. 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed with a type of cancer in their lifetime. We seek your support to raise funds and awareness so that those living with cancer can have HOPE Hello, Trish Travers here from Albany, West Australia. I was diagnosed recently with non-curable Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer. The average life expectancy with this type of cancer is five years. Within five years a lot of research can be done. Help us find a cure for cancer by raising funds. Your donation will also help support services like the free counselling I am receiving. I am having chemotherapy at Albany Hospital and then in 2019 will be having a stem cell harvest and transplant at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth. My goal is to get into REMISSION in 2019 and enjoy a few more years with my family and friends as well as continue volunteering with Soroptimist International Albany (www.siswp.org), the Unthando Dollmakers Albany (www.uthandoproject.org) and singing in The Bird on a Wire Choir in Albany (formerly Safety in Numbers Choir).
