Marvel Animation’s newest series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man just wrapped up its first season, and this show REALLY surprised me. I was excited going into it, but it surpassed all my expectations to immediately become one of my all-time favorite animated superhero shows. It feels like a breath of fresh air in Spidey storytelling while still staying true to the character in a near perfect adaptation. Despite the clear inspiration from 60s spidey, the show is a modern take on the character through and through, and one that feels right at home with the rest of Spidey lore.
