Nine NRM MPs write to President Museveni asking him for a succession plan.

Nine members of parliament from the ruling National Resistance Movement party have written to President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the NRM Party Chairperson, requesting him to lay out a transition and secession plan for the party and the presidency. The MPs also want Museveni to expeditiously convene all top NRM organs to take a position on the Constitutional Amendment bill that seeks to lift the presidential age limit. However, the NRM party Chief Whip, Ruth Nankabirwa, has advised the MPs to address the issue of transition to the party Secretary General if it is to be considered on the agenda of the next National Executive Committee meeting.
