Ahhh Hoshoryu, while few are upset Kotozakura scooped the cup, I think the sumo community- myself included- would have oh so loved to see it in the hands of Hoshoryu again. I blame Abi, hahaha! I think this is the best we've ever seen him- a couple of close calls or not. He seems to have some counter in mind for every opponent, and pulls out some killshot finishing move over and over again. He's got adaptability, and combines it with both power and aggression, making him a deadly opponent and an absolute wonder to watch. The permanent attitude and his insistence on throws has, and will continue to make Hoshoryu one of the most popular rikishi active today, and deservedly so! Are we calling January a Yokozuna run?
