Many retro-inspired independent RPGs these days tend to focus on delivering a particular combat model which mainstream titles in the genre don't offer anymore, but Driftmoon is more about creating an immersive yet light-hearted adventure with lots of pun-ridden dialogue sequences and an emphasis on relaxed exploration, light puzzles and an unusual amount of objects to interact with in the environment (which is where the Ultima inspiration comes in). Aside from the main campaign the game also supports modding, and user-created content is readily accessible from the main menu.
