"Tracing autism’s trajectories could help explain its diversity" at Researcher Lightning Rounds following TEDxYorkUSalon AutismInnovations on April 22 2017. Child development is complex and never follows a straight line. To better understand these complexities in autism, Stelios Georgiades introduces the concept of ‘chronogeneity’ and argues that systematic investigation of the factors that shape a child’s trajectory may inform the development of more precise and adaptive models of care. Stelios Georgiades is the Founder and Co-Director of the McMaster Autism Research Team (www.macautism.ca). His research focuses on understanding the clinical heterogeneity in autism in relation to the dimension of time. Stelios serves as an advisor to government and community organizations and is a strong proponent of creating synergies and forming collaborations with stakeholders in the autism community.
