Footage from Shelter's show at Club Babyhead in Providence, RI in November of 1990 (with Vic DiCara I just noticed). Uploading because I was at this show and it was a memorable moment in time. I was just a little kid who loved Youth of Today, and this was Shelter's first tour. Ray Cappo was like a superstar at the time to kids like myself. Hard to describe how mind-blowing the whole Hare Krishna hardcore thing was when it first broke — it was just so out of left field. There were all these Hare Krishna kids there selling the Bhagavad Gita and ISKCON propaganda and I was young and impressionable and went home with a copy of 'Chant and Be Happy' and Tulsi beads. This is around when Maximumrocknroll published their anti-Krishna issue and there was all this debate around cults and brainwashing. Anyone who thinks later incarnations of Shelter were better than when they first happened doesn't know what they're talking about. The energy was crazy.
