We live in a world that edits Scripture to fit personal comfort. Proverbs 30 calls us back to the fear of the Lord — every word of God is true, and none of it exists for us to change. Proverbs 30 hits a theme our culture desperately needs to hear right now: God’s Word doesn’t bend for our preferences. Today I focused on verses 5 and 6, because my study Bible called them out — and honestly, they set the tone for the whole chapter. “Every word of God proves true; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.” (Verse 5) That means all of it is true — not just the parts that inspire us or make us feel good. Then verse 6 warns us: “Do not add to His words, or He will rebuke you and prove you a liar.” I talked about how dangerous it is when we: • Cut out verses we don’t like • Water down truth to avoid offending people • Twist Scripture to justify our behavior • Turn God’s Word into a motivational quote instead of a standard for life God doesn’t need our edits. He doesn’t need our spin. He gave us His Word to transform us — not to give us permission to stay the same. I also shared how important it is to hear all of God’s Word — even the parts that confront us, correct us, or hit us in the ego. That’s where real growth happens.
