Welcome back to 100lbs and Counting – where I share delicious, satisfying recipes that support a healthy lifestyle and sustainable weight loss journey. In today’s video, I’m making Turkey, Ham and Leek Grill Pie – a comforting, hearty classic made lighter! This healthy potato-topped pie is inspired by the Slimming World cookbook Fast Feasts, and it’s perfect for anyone following a healthy eating plan who still wants proper, filling comfort food. Packed with lean turkey, tasty ham and tender leeks in a creamy-style sauce, then topped with fluffy potatoes and finished under the grill, this dish delivers all the flavour without the guilt. Even better? It’s ready in under 30 minutes, making it ideal for busy weeknights when you want something quick, nutritious and satisfying. As always, I’ll walk you through the recipe step by step, and you’ll find the full ingredients list and detailed method just below this introduction. If you’re looking for healthy recipes that don’t feel like “diet food,” you’re in the right place. Let’s get cooking! 🍽️✨ Ingredients (Serves 4) 700g Floury Potatoes (Cut into small chunks, leave skin on) Cooking Spray (Fry Light, or other oil spray) 500g Lean Turkey Mince (5% fat or less) 1 (or 2) Garlic Clove (Crushed) 3 Celery Sticks (Finely chopped) 2 Medium Leeks (Thinly sliced) 1 tbsp Dried Sage 1 tbsp Plain Flour 450ml Chicken Stock (Hot) 200g Lean Cooked Ham (cut into small chunks) 4 tbsp Fat-Free Natural Yoghurt 60g Cheddar (grated) Salt & Pepper (to taste) Instructions 1) Boil the potatoes till tender (around 15 minutes from boiling) - when ready, drain and roughly mash 2)Whilst potato is cooking, heat a frying pan and add cooking spray. When hot, add the turkey mince, folllowed by the leeks, celery and garlic. Cook until the turkey has browned and the vegetables have softened. 3) Stir in the sage and flour, and season with pepper. Cook for 1 minute, keep stirring. 4) Pour in the stock and add the ham, stir through and cook on a medium heat for around 5 minutes, until the stock starts to thicken into a gravy. 5) Take the pan off the heat, and stir through the yoghurt. 6) Spread the potato topping across the top of the turkey mix, and scatter the cheese over the top. 7) Put the pan under the grill for 2-3 minutes or until it’s golden and bubbling. This version of the recipe contains 1/2 a swip point on the Slimming World Plan, and uses 1/2 a healthy extra calcium choice.
