Valle de la Luna | Exploring the San Pedro de Atacama Desert by Bicycle
Valle de la Luna, or in english, valley of the moon is a place in the atacama desert in Chile that has formidable rock formations. This national park starts 6 kilometres from the town San Pedro so most people will find accomodation here as a starting point. San Pedro is a cosy town with clay houses in the North of Chile. It's very close yo the Bolivian border and also serves as a starting point for the multi-day tour to Uyuni in Bolivia. We can higly recommend this tour, even only for the salt plains close to Uyuni. We rented mountain bikes and set off to explore the beautiful landscape and salt deposits.
