On July 28th, 1990 JIM CLEVO promoted a tribute to PAUL MCCARTNEY titled VISA AND MARS at the Cleveland Public Theater in Cleveland Ohio. Many Cleveland musicians performed covers of the Beatles/Paul McCartney. Here "One-half of Death of Samantha" DOUG GILLARD and STEVE-O perform JUNK and FOOL ON THE HILL. Doug Gillard currently records and performs as a solo artist, and with the groups Nada Surf, Bambi Kino, and Death Of Samantha. Gillard was previously a member of Guided By Voices, Cobra Verde, Gem, and My Dad Is Dead. He is also credited below as a member of several semi-fictitious bands (e.g., Approval Of Mice, Bug-Eyed Mums, Champion Hairpuller) as a result of his appearances on two of the Suitcases box sets by Guided By Voices, which are compilations of outtakes and demos in which Pollard created a new band name for nearly every track.
