This structure takes a beating from the four seasons of central Washington state, and its ten chicken residents. It has been in place for over two years and requires very little maintenance. We designed it to give extra space to our four out hens, as free range is not feasible in this environment with so many predators. Fortunately, so close to the garden we can bring the range to them, and with the extra-long run they can enjoy their own space. We provide no heat, and their door to the coop is left open 24/7, so whether you have electric available or not this design will work well for you.
