This is no accident done by the creator of these characters but rather a method to make a character so instantly recognizable even with as little information as possible, you would know who it is. Beyond recognition, the idea of silhouettes in character design and animation is the ideal way to show an action occurring on-screen without the viewer having to put in the effort to understand what is happening. Task: Create your own character or comic along with me that has a unique and recognizable shape even in the form of a silhouette.
