There is too much wrong in the film 'Ironclad' for one video, so I am tackling it one theme at a time. In this: buildings. My new computer has died again, I hope temporarily. In the meantime, I'm producing some videos that are just animated still photographs, mainly screen captures from the film 'Ironclad'. Naively, I thought I would quickly make an Ironclad video to cover the period of my fixing the computer. After two days of editing, here is the first of what will probably be at least four. There really is a lot in Ironclad to comment upon. As one commenter pointed out, there was a French/Irish/Scottish King called Johan de Bailliol, or Jhon Ballioun who was a King of Scotland (for four years before abdicating after being defeated by the Edward I), and his name can be translated as 'John'. He wasn't king of Britain, however, so what I say in this video is still technically correct, however, I freely admit that it would have been better to say that no 'English' kings have been called John since the King John in this film. There have been a couple of royal sons called John, but none survived to adulthood. It seems that John is not a lucky name for British royalty. I don't like the tone of my voice in this one - it's a bit too strident. I shall endeavour to be mellower next time. Spanish subtitles kindly contributed by Pablo Monjas. www.LloydianAspects.co.uk
