I figured I'd push it back to Christmas, since I've usually considered this 80's classic a holiday film as much as a horror comedy. Which was released in June, apparently. It doesn't really fit neatly into any one category. But, there are Santa hats involved, so it's a Christmas movie. Thems the rules. But, I missed Christmas again lol. So, here's to new traditions, I guess 🥂 This song was an absolute blast to play. And, this happens to be the first piece I've learned entirely without the aid of "Synthesia" tutorial videos 😮 I started with sheet music, painfully slowly I might add, and played around by ear for the rest. I simplified some parts, and quite unsimplified others. Hopefully for gripping, dramatic effect. I really tried to preserve the feel of this endearing movie, one I've always had fond memories of since childhood, as well as add my own touch. There were only minor hiccups this time around. I bought an awesome ugly Christmas sweater (from a fake store, it seems). It never showed up :'( And, I wanted Gizmo to dance continuously, but the 'singing' that accompanies it is maddening. Listening to it, I'm immediately compelled to hurl him into a river. But, he's described as 'lifelike', and I don't want to take any chances. I think that's what prompted me to get a bit more creative with the editing, so all's well. Anyways, thanks for watching and reading! I hope you guys liked it! I'm wishing everyone the best this holiday season! Retroactively! And, my next piece is a little bit older than this one. A soprano aria, though I don't know when I can capture it.
