This Slide Show video is of the games played in the 1973-74 Central Hockey League season between the Tulsa Oilers and the Albuquerque Six Guns hockey teams. Six Guns' goalie Ray Reeson (1) was a workhorse for the club playing 56 games. For those that don't know, Albuquerque was established as an affiliate of the Kansas City Scouts ... even though the Scouts did not begin NHL play until 1974-75. All the Six-Guns players were on loan. K.C. GM Sid Abel reasoned it was a way to evaluate both Albuquerque's players and their CHL opponents ahead of the 1974 expansion draft. Alas, the Six-Guns last only one season and their coach, John Choyce (1:15 in the video), was promoted to Kansas City's director of scouting.
