For the best value, I believe you could get a Garmin watch with great battery life—like one of the best outdoor watches, the Garmin Enduro 3, or the Garmin Instinct 3—and pair it with a Garmin inReach Mini 2. This combination gives you all the features of a single, more expensive device, often at a lower price. While the Fenix 8 Pro is a cool proof of concept, I think the lack of battery efficient memory-in-pixel display makes it less suitable for multi-day hikes and endurance activities. Still, it's nice to have a device that packs everything into one.
