Driving from Altdorf to Glarus over the Klausenpass, a high mountain pass in the Swiss Alps between the cantons of Uri and Glarus. Enjoy a road trip through the beautiful mountains in the heart of Switzerland. The Klausenpass [33:40] is the highest point of the drive with an elevation of 1'948 meters (6'391 feet). A specific feature is that the border between the two cantons is not at the top of the pass, but about 8 kilometers to the east in the direction of Linthal. The summit of the pass lies entirely in the canton of Uri. The pass road has a maximum gradient of 9 percent. The Klausenpass is closed in winter.
