That video was descended upon by people who were angry about the message. What was that message? That the image and fantasy manufactured by people outside the subculture that depict goths as mentally unstable, self abusive, people with daddy issues that exist to be the sexual punching bag of the masses is wholly untrue. This caused several people to detonate in the comments as they usually do in our inboxes when we reject their requests because - who only but goths will not only happily grant your party city brand of dom request - it is what we're designed for...Yeah, not happenin, Chet. To us seasoned goth veterans, it's irritating, can get to us but for the most part we can handle ourselves. We'd see this kind of thing back in the day every now and again when their ilk would find their way into our event. The fact that the issue is growing quickly is troubling. The people I worry about are the younger goths, the new kids who are unfortunately getting caught in the crosshairs because they're part of the group that's now become a category in a list of fetishes for the feral. For the most part, goth girls will stick up for themselves and each other. Back in the day, when one of these people came for one of us, everyone took up for us. We didn't only defend ourselves but our male friends in the group did as well and they'd swiftly punt themselves out the door. Nowadays, they try to shame men from defending women by throwing around words like simp or whiteknight - not because you are what those names suggest. Like all things, words can be used out of context to suit an agenda. It's because getting push back from other guys would mean that they're wrong. If only goth girls are protesting the matter and the dudes aren't, surely that must mean that they're correct in feeling entitled to you and the fantasy is real. Therefore, shutting the dudes up makes them right.
